The American Council of Engineering Companies Retirement Trust (ACEC RT) announced the retirement of longtime Executive Director Bruce McFarland after 23 years of service as both a Trustee and Executive Director. McFarland was the first and only Executive Director of the Retirement Trust and has been instrumental in the organization and growth of the employer sponsored 401(k) group plan Retirement Trust which now includes over 350 participating companies with over $2 billion in assets.
The Board of Trustees has selected Deborah Stevens to succeed McFarland as Executive Director. Stevens has 32 years of experience in the retirement plan space through the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE Retirement Trust) and the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA Retirement Trust – NADART). She holds a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation through the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and has participated on the ASPPA education committee.
McFarland and Stevens are working in tandem as they effectively collaborate through a transition of leadership which is expected to be complete by Fall of 2023.
